This
is a long overdue post. Frankly, I’m surprised
I haven’t done more movie reviews here. But we’re here now so let’s get down to
business. As you know, each year, Hollywood movie companies release great new
movies for the pleasure of the public and 2019 is no exception to that. Lots of
great movies have been lined up this year. From live-action
to superhero movies, these are the most anticipated movies of 2019.
1. Captain
Marvel
This
movie is one of the Marvel movie franchise
slated to be released on the 8th of March. Captain Marvel gives an insight into the life of the Marvel superhero who is going to be appearing
in the Avengers: endgame later in the
year. Starring Brie Larson and Samuel l Jackson, captain marvel is going to be
another epic blockbuster from the Marvel
cinematic universe.
2. Avengers:
endgame
This
is the fourth instalment of the Marvel blockbuster Avengers series. The first instalment which was released in 2012 grossed
over $1.5 billion at the box office. Since then, the Avengers movie has been
the movie to look forward to whenever there’s a new part coming out. The Avengers: endgame is the concluding part of the
Avengers: infinity war. We hope
to see all our favourite superheroes
return for a big fight in this part. It is slated for release on the 9th of March
2019
3. Aladdin
Disney
producers once again bring the story of Aladdin to life in this live-action
movie. Disney movies are always a pleasure to watch. This particular one stars Mena
Massoud, Will Smith, and Naomi Scott. It will
hit the theatres on the 24th of May, 2019.
4. Spiderman: Far from Home
It
looks like 2019 is the year for the Marvel
cinematic universe as they will be bringing yet another blockbuster to our
screen. Spoiler alert: the Avengers most probably won
in the endgame. We know this how? Well according to the trailer released by the Marvel company, peter parker went to Paris in
the second part of the Spiderman series and everything looked okay (for a
planet whose population was reduced by half). So it’s safe to say that the Avengers won and everything is back to normal. Peter
Parker once again fought his way through
some bad situations and bad guys against all odds. Oh and he maybe has a new
love interest (we love young love). It’s coming to the theatres on the 5th of July
2019.
5. The
lion king
The
original 1994 animation musical film sure made our childhood. No matter how old
you are now, you wouldn’t want to miss a live-action remake of the lion king. It
stars big artists like Beyoncé, James Earl Jones, Seth Rogen, Donald Glover, Chiwetel Ejiofor and
many more. We would definitely love to hear our favourite
lion king songs and see the characters come alive once more. The lion king is slated
for release on the 19th of July 2019.
6. Pokémon
Detective Pikachu
Yes,
the Pokémon game that has had us glued to our screens and pads is coming to the big screens. The movie stars all the favourite Pokémon characters from the game. It also
stars Ryan Reynolds as detective Pokémon and Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, Omar
Chaparro, Bill Nighy, Suki Waterhouse, Ken Watanabe, and Chris Geere in
live-action roles. It is going to hit the cinemas on the 10th of May 2019.
7. John
Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum
By
now, we know that anything can happen when john wick is having a bad day (and
he always is). The third instalment of
the John wick franchise promises to be
even more intense than the first two. He has more people trying to kill him in
this part (everyone really) plus his chances of survival are slimmer than ever
with no friends. It will be hitting the cinemas on the 17th of May 2019.
8. Godzilla:
King of the Monsters
Godzilla
is back again, this time with bigger and fiercer
monsters to battle. If anything, the first part of this movie introduces Godzilla
as a good monster who mostly keeps to himself unless there’s a new monster in
town. And the new monsters are back in this second instalment. It will be released on the 31ist of May 2019.
9. Game
of Thrones
Now
before you say it, it’s a series,we know! But we just feel like this list will
not be complete if we didn’t add a touch of fire breeding dragons and dead cold
white Walkers. Game of throne is perhaps the most anticipated series every year
and we didn’t get to see the action last year as they took a break for a year. They
are back this year with the final season though and we just cannot keep our
cool. All our favourite characters will
be returning for a final run. The first episode will be aired on HBO on the 14th
of April 2019.
Waiting to see all this movie look
