We
live in a fast-paced ever-changing world.
To keep up with this rat race, we wake up earlier, go to sleep later and keep at it every single day. Don’t get
me wrong, chasing your dreams is good, great even! But we are all so caught up
in this jet-speed world that we are missing out on the most important things. As
good as it is that we are going out there and getting ahead, we also need to
breathe. Sometimes we get so caught up with life, and the frenzy going on, that
we can't function on anything else. We lose sight of the joys and blessings in
our lives.
I
bet some of you cannot remember the last time you saw the sun rise or set. Hard
work gets results, but the line between productivity and burn-out can be a fine
one to tread. You should resist the urge to push yourself beyond the limit. Try
taking regular breaks from life once in a while to rest your minds and recharge
your energy levels before diving into the next task. Rest and relaxation is a
must for everyone. We all need this in our daily lives, or we will quickly get
burnout and lose our way.
Everyone
needs a holiday every now and then. So many of us are so caught up with work that we forget that we actually need to
step back and get away totally for a week or two. This way, we will come back to work refreshed, energized and ready to
take on the world again. Schedule time with family and actually have a good
laugh. Go on a vacation with your significant other. Check on friends and hang
out with them. Go to that family dinner you always cancel. Because at the end
of the day, it’s the little things that really matter and once you miss out on
them, you are missing out on life. So go out, push through, work hard but don’t
forget to breathe!
