Even
though we’re almost a month into the New Year, I would really still want to
wish you a happy new year. I haven’t posted anything in a while and for that, I
sincerely apologise. Well, it’s a new
year and I have decided on a ton on thing
to do – or not this year.
Of
course, each year starts with lots of promises and resolutions for everyone (me
included) but somehow, we just never do it. If you are like me, then sit tight
and let me tell you how you can stick to your goals this year.
First
of all, take a minute to let it all go; the guilt of not accomplishing what you
wanted last year. I’ll wait..... Great! now that that’s out of the way, I will like
you to take a piece of paper and write what it is that you want (or do not want)
for yourself this year. You want to get
married? Write it down. You want to
change jobs? Get a degree or a professional course? Perhaps you want to quit
smoking? Write it all down. I’ll give you another minute……
Okay,
now write down the steps you’re taking to get where you want to be this year. For
instance, If you want to be financially stable, then you know you have to start
saving. If you want to quit smoking, then stop buying cigarettes. If you want to
lose weight, register in a gym and so on. If you have written down some steps,
congratulations, you’re halfway there. If
you couldn’t write down any steps you’re taking, it’s okay. Start taking those
steps today and then write it down later (preferably soon).
Now
read those things you have written out loud
and tell yourself you can achieve them. The mind controls the body. Whatever battle
you’ve won in your mind is far easier to win in the physical. Now what I have
done with my written goals is that I stuck it in a visible place in my room. Each
time I wake up, I’m forced to remember that I want to achieve them. It will
serve as a daily reminder for you.
Please leave behind your comments in the comments section after you have tried it, I would love to know how things worked out for you. Have a splendid new year and don’t forget to rock.
